Dr. Madariaga is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Chicago specializing in general thoracic surgery and lung transplantation.  Dr. Madariaga graduated from the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology at Harvard Medical School and completed her general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery training at the Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston MA.  She is the principal investigator of the Organ Perfusion Laboratory at the University of Chicago, which uses ex vivo perfusion technology as a platform to address questions in transplantation tolerance, oncology and lung microbiome.
