Neil Hyman

Dr. Hyman received his BA from the University of Pennsylvania and his M.D. from the University of Vermont. He completed his surgical residency at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York and his colon and rectal fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. He is currently Professor of Surgery, Chief of the Section of Colon and Rectal Surgery and Codirector of the Center for Digestive Diseases at the University of Chicago Medicine.  He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed original articles or textbook chapters, and is presently Treasurer of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and its Research Foundation, Director of the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and Chairs the ACS Advisory Council for Colon and Rectal Surgery and the Advisory Council Chairs.

Dr Hyman received the Distinguished Academic Achievement Award from the Alumni Association of the University of Vermont College of Medicine in 2014.
